Frequently Asked Questions
If I am unable to attend a ceremony closest to where I live/work, am I able to register to attend an alternative graduation?
Yes. If for any reason the date or location of one of the other graduation ceremonies is more convenient for you then you are welcome to book to attend.
How much does it cost for me to attend a ceremony?
As an ACCA graduate or member you may attend the ceremony free of charge.
Can I bring any guests?
Yes. Graduates are encouraged to bring guests along to share this special occasion.
The price for each guest place is £20 per person.
What do I get for the £20?
The price goes towards the cost of hiring a prestigious venue, your presentation ceremony programme and certificate, refreshments for you and your guests.
Once I've registered will I be sent any further information regarding my graduation?
Yes. You will receive an e-mail approximately two weeks prior to your chosen ceremony confirming the final details. However, we strongly recommend that you read the information that is available online. You will be required to bring this confirmation along with you on the day as proof of booking.
What happens if my details change once I have registered to attend a graduation ceremony?
If any personal details/requirements or contact information changes after you've registered then you must update your details as soon as possible by visiting the ACCA UK Graduation Ceremonies webpages ![]()
What happens if I register to attend and am unable to attend?
If once you have registered you have to cancel please visit the ACCA UK Graduation Ceremonies webpages
to cancel your place. Please note that no monies will be refunded for cancellations received less than ten working days before the ceremony other than in exceptional circumstances.
Can children attend?
Experience has shown that children find the ceremonies lengthy and uninteresting, as they have to sit for long periods of time in silence. Therefore, affiliates/members and guests are strongly recommended not to bring children to the ceremony. Any children attending a ceremony cannot be accommodated by sitting on another guest's lap; therefore all children in attendance must have their own ticket.
What should I wear?
Dress for the ceremony should be smart attire such as business suits. Gowns and mortar boards are not worn as our research has shown this would deter many affiliates/members from attending.
Are any commemorative photographs taken which I can have as a reminder of my day?
Yes. Every affiliate/member can have their photograph taken which will be sent to them free of charge after the ceremonies have taken place.
Affiliates/members who attend the London ceremonies are able to pre-book their photographs which must be taken prior to the ceremony taking place. This year a commemorative DVD of the London ceremony will also be available to purchase. Further information can be found on the London ceremonies page.
Affiliates/members who attend ceremonies in Leeds, Birmingham, Cardiff and Glasgow will have their photograph taken whilst on stage being presented with their certificate.
Guests are welcome to take photographs, but from their seat only to minimise disruption and obstruction to other members of the audience.
Can ACCA supply information to support visa applications required for affiliates/members or guests travelling from abroad?
No. ACCA cannot provide any evidence to support any visa applications for attendance at this event.
What if I or any of my guests have any special seating requirements (e.g. disabled/wheelchair place)?
Every attempt will be made to accommodate any special requirements that you or your guests may have. You will be asked to indicate at time of registration.
What if I or any of my guests have any special dietary requirements (e.g. vegetarian and vegan diets)?
Every attempt is made to offer refreshments that cater for most diets and we will try to accommodate any usual dietary requirements that you or your guests may have. You will be asked to indicate at time of registration.
We will endeavour to cater for your specific dietary needs however we cannot guarantee that they can be met.
