The Health Service Network comprises approximately 3,000 members working in the UK health sector. Activities to support its members are detailed below.
Understanding Governance in the NHS
The concept of good corporate governance within the National Health Service (NHS) is well-understood by NHS Board members, with only two per cent of respondents viewing it as burdensome or simply a box-ticking exercise, finds new research from ACCA. The report Understanding Governance in the NHS, reveals that those responsible for NHS governance – such as board members and Non Executive Directors (NEDs) - take their responsibilities extremely seriously and recognise the need for strong control of public finances within the NHS. Strategic Links
ACCA is raising its profile in the healthcare sector by forging alliances with the following organisations: the European Commission, the Department of Health, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the Audit Commission and the NHS Confederation.
Events/CPD
The Network organises around 10 events per year on behalf of its members in London and across the UK in conjunction with the Regional Networks.
Attendance at these events is free but, as places are limited, please book in advance. These events will constitute verifiable Continuing Professional Development (CPD) if the content is relevant to an individual's personal development plan.

The Network is guided by an elected Panel of members, which works closely with a permanent member of staff at ACCA. One of the roles of the Panel is to assist ACCA in making representations to and influencing regulatory bodies in the sector.
